Affordable health care costs for every one

I visited the wake of uncle who died at the age of 84. He had colorectal cancer for 1 and 1/2 years. But his immediate cause of death was not the cancer but his lung infection (or cancer of the pocket ? joke.) His operation set his children back by P500,000 and total bill reached P3 million for coleostomy in the most modern JIC accredited hospital. Not a nice way to be sick and to die. (His memorial package in a well known chapel set the family back by P50,000 because they had a plan which they upgraded Quite a modest expense though)
My aunt who had breast cancer, several years back (perhaps a decade ago) spent P200,000 all in for her left breast mastectomy
Can any one help us, figure out how we can bring down health care costs
(My daughter criticized me for too much opportunity seeking screening seizing teaching to MDs and hospital administrators for MBA for MDs. They had gone overboard with too much money making and forgot the Hippocrates code and the social side of b;usiness.
The site advocates to lower health care costs in the Philippines. The health care costs have skyrocketed with the Philhealth, HMOs, hospital acquisition by tycoons and conglomorates. Despite legislation on generic drugs and fair trade act, the spiralling health care costs have made medical care unaffordable and and unaccessible to most Filipinos. What can be done to make affordable health care accessible to every one..
